Quote of the day: “Do you think the world would be a better place if we all worried about ourselves, and worried about everyone else too?”

My lovely Cassandra just said something so great I had to quote it for all of you.

“You know how we’re always told ‘just worry about yourself’ - you know, don’t worry about anyone else but yourself? Do you think the world would be a better place if we all worried about ourselves, *and* worried about everyone else too?”

That’s the whole point of John Nash’s equilibrium therom. In a group, the group does best when everyone in the group does what is best for himself and the group. Rather than, every man doing what is just best for himself.. or every man just doing what is best for the group..

Justin, almost everyday I hear my teachers tell me that I should just “worry about myself”. Ironically enough, it’s a Christian school. I have never thought of what to say back and this is a perfect rebuttal.

Keep up the good work. Your writings are slowly changing the landscape of my mind.
